How does our Lightning Protection System Works

A lightning protection system works by providing a safe path for the electrical energy from a lightning strike to reach the ground. Here’s how it operates:

Lightning Rods (Air Terminals): These are installed on the highest points of a structure. They attract the lightning strike by providing a preferred path for the electrical discharge. This is also known as Lightning Arrester.
Conductor Cables: These conductive materials (usually copper or aluminum) connect the lightning rods to the ground. They channel the electricity safely downward, bypassing the building’s structure and its occupants.
Grounding Electrodes (Ground Rods): These are buried in the ground near the structure. They provide a low-resistance path for the lightning current to reach the earth. The goal is to prevent the lightning from passing through parts of the building, which could cause damage or fire.
Surge Protection Devices: These devices protect internal electrical systems from voltage surges caused by lightning strikes. They ensure that sensitive equipment and appliances are shielded from damage.
